We continue to invest in R&D&I,’Made in Spain’ and expand our facilities

We continue our commitment to R&D&I and the development of products ‘Made in Spain’ of our own manufacture. In order to consolidate our national and international expansion, we have an Expansion Plan in place, which includes the extension of the Toledo plant and the Northwest Delegation. In addition, in a new commitment to the Latin American market, the brand opens a new branch in Colombia.

The head office in Toledo is being expanded by 6,100 m2, a space that will be dedicated to new production processes for the development of the ‘Made in Spain’ product line of its own manufacture. The new space will have 6 loading docks and will be equipped with the latest technology Until now, there was a 35,000 m2 plot of land with 8,500 m2 of warehouse space, 3,000 m2 of showrooms, training rooms, a 200 m2 laboratory for the R+D+i department, a 300 m2 clean room and an office area.

Within this Expansion Plan there is also a commitment to the Northwest Delegation. In addition to the 800 m2 facilities in the municipality of Barberá del Vallés (Barcelona), a new area of 36,000 m2 will be added in Sant Llorenç d’Hortos (Barcelona). This infrastructure will house 13,000 m2 of warehouse with 13 loading docks, 2,000 m2 of offices, training room and showroom where applications of the product portfolio will be shown.

These expansions will allow us to continue growing with our ‘Made in Spain’ line of products manufactured in-house and to maintain our investment in R&D&I. Innovation is a cornerstone of Prilux and we dedicate significant financial and human resources to it. Our team of engineers and lighting designers use the latest technology in engineering software. The lighting manufactured in Spain has good international acceptance, we compete for design and technology, and we have bet on the quality of our products to make a hole even in the most demanding markets such as Germany and Italy. These central and northwest facilities are the center of many international operations as well as all sales in Europe, Africa and part of Asia,” explains Carlos Alberto Pretel Recio, CEO of Prilux.

Internationally, a new delegation has been opened in Colombia with the aim of expanding its presence in Latin America. After the landing in South America in the summer of 2014, we have in Brazil facilities with a 900 m2 warehouse and more than 100 m2 of offices.

“The Colombian delegation is a new commitment to the Latin American market. We closed 2017 with growth of over 12%, reinforced by international expansion where sales already exceed 15% of business volume. We want to offer the best quality/price ratio, both in foreign and national markets”, assures Carlos Pretel Recio.

We currently have business in the European Union, Eastern Europe, Morocco, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Angola, Latin America, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. With three lines of business: the technical division in which they include street lighting products, industry, hospitals, sports facilities, offices, etc.; products dedicated to Christmas decoration of streets, shopping centres and unique buildings; and the import of light bulbs, fluorescent tubes and basic lighting fixtures.

We are also committed to the human team and this expansion of facilities will mean an increase in the workforce of between 15% and 20%. Formed with a young, dynamic and multidisciplinary team of professionals with more than 170 employees. We have a sales network of more than 40 people on our staff, as well as 16 engineers specialized in different technical and product design fields.
